Construction

• I decided to test the new engine design with a higher chamber pressure. This engine contained 1.5 lbs. Kno3, 0.7 lbs. sugar, 0.2 lbs. corn syrup and 0.25 lbs. water. The fuel ratio for this mixture was 62.5 / 37.5. However, the PVC pipe, nozzle retaining pins and end cap retaining pins couldn't handle the increased pressure. The engine casing is made from 2" schedule 40 PVC with the nozzle and end cap cast directly into the PVC pipe.

• Engine material is too weak to handle the increased pressure.
