Project
516 Flight
Post-flight Analysis
- The design of this rocket greatly reduced the overall weight of the project. With a total launch wieght of 28 lbs, this rocket had the highest thrust to weight ratio of any rocket I've built. Unfortunately, the rocket liked being on the ground better and soon after launch it turned upside down and flew into the ground at full thrust.
Construction
- Four J300 engines producing a peak thrust of 480 lbs. and a total impulse of 4800 Ns were clustered under the parachute ballast tank.
Pros
- Lightweight.
- Easy to construct.
- Low cost.
